Monday again =/

Yes its Monday again which means we have to wait for some more weekend antics. I didn't get up to much this weekend just immersed myself in sports and there was plenty of that to go around.

Firstly congratulations go to Sebastian Vettel on a triple double. At Interlagos, Brazil he took 6th place in an action packed race. In the fourth corner it looked all over for the world champ as a touch from Bruno Senna up the inside sent him spinning and into dead last, with in two laps Vettel had caught the pack and was making in roads. At the front it looked like McLaren were going to run away with it which would give them 2nd in the constructors, nicking it from Ferrari. Unfortunately the rain came forcing Hamilton to pit for intermediate tires. Nico Hulkenburg took the lead from a struggling Button but he couldn't hang on and a couple of mistakes were made, one involved Hamilton which finished his last race for McLaren. Vettel was down in 7th at this point and his main rival Alonso had team mate Massa ahead in 2nd. Massa slowed for the Spaniard to take 2nd spot but Vettel had taken 6th which meant Alonso had to catch Button to win who was 21 seconds ahead. With 2 laps to go Paul DiResta lost control on the final corner, smashing into the outside barrier forcing the race to be completed under a safety car.

So much football this weekend as well so here's the highlights;
Sunderland 2-4 West Brom
Great match for the neutral fans to watch some good goals. West Brom continue to push into the top 4
Manchester United 3-1 QPR
United go behind again but rescue it to go top of the league after the round of games that saw Man City and Chelsea draw.
Wigan 3-2 ReadingWigan
Stopper Al Habsi with a howler of an own goal but he was saved at the opposite end by Gomez with a hat-trick.
Southampton 2-0 Newcastle
Big upset?

Finally in music.
Hardwell took the reigns of BBC Radio 1's essential mix. I've not listened to it yet but its bound to be good. I had a recent Pacha NYC podcast of him and that was just excellent so it's well worth a listen!
BBC Radio1 Essential Mix: Hardwell

Unfortunately for him, he's not got my track of the weekend. I heard this 1 from Ben Westbeech on Wippenberg's podcast on Friday night:

Tune for Friday night

Show us you're bass face!

Go on screw you're face up and dance!

Catch up...

Sorry I missed out yesterday but here's a catch up on whats been going on in sports, music and TV.

Sports

As I started writing this Queens Park Rangers have terminated the contract of manager Mark Hughes following a disastrous start to the season, it could quite possibly get worse for them when QPR walk out at Old Trafford this weekend.
Speaking of 'The Theatre of Dreams' today ex-players and staff are turning out to see a nine foot bronze statue of Sir Alex Ferguson. The unveiling will be televised on MUTV. The ceremony starts at 13:30 GMT and will be free for the 90 minute program to Sky TV customers.

Last night there was quite a few Europa league games on. Because there were so many here's a few that caught my eye...

Rubin Kazan 3-0 Inter
An early goal for Karadeniz and 2 goals in the last 3 minutes for Rondon sealed defeat for Inter.

Lazio 0-0 Tottenham
More racial chants from the Lazio fans and a 'Spurs fan was stabbed in the neck prior to the game.

Rosenborg 3-2 Rapid Vienna
5 goal thriller in Rosenborg. After taking the lead Vienna were let back into the game and go ahead. Rosenborg then scored twice to seal victory in the 80th minute.

Liverpool 2-2 BSC Young Boys
After taking the lead twice Liverpool could'nt hang on and now need to beat Udinese away to seal progression.

In Cricket England aren't doing to bad after day 1 of the 2nd test in India. After a spanking in the 1st test Mont Panesar returned to the bowling line up and ended day 1 on 4 for 91. India on the other hand had Pujara at the crease and he finished the day on 114 not out. In total then India ended the day on 266-6.
Down under in the 2nd test between Australia and South Africa, captain Graeme Smith hit back at the Ozzie's massive opening day score with an unbeaten 111. At stumps on day 2 South Africa are 217-2 a deficit of 333. Yes Australia put on 482-5 on day 1, that's the second highest day 1 score in test history. They batted on till they were bowled out just before lunch on day 2 reaching a score of 550.

3 games yesterday in the NFL on Thanksgiving day and a shoddy performance by Kid Rock at halftime in the Lions game. Here's some results as I didn't get to watch any of the games =(

New England 49-19 NY Jets
Houston 34-31 Detroit
Washington 38-31 Dallas

In the world of music I've been listening to the reason I love dance music... Tiesto. Yes the Club Life Podcast opened with a mashup by TeeT's and Henry Fong. The mashup was Coldplay's 'Waterfall' and Porter Robinson's  'Language'. Because I'm kind here's a link to it:
Elsewhere, I've known of these DJ's called the BassJockeys. I've seen them play at our local clubs before and bigger nights at Sankeys Manchester and Warehouse Project. They also have a radio show on Manchester Global radio where they have guest DJ's on, recent guests include; SoulClap, Deniz Koyu, Matt Darey, Matt Zo and Michael Woods. Next week they welcome who they describe as, 'one of our biggest guests' in Steve Aoki. If you fancy checking them out or you're just an Aoki junkie the show airs on Tuesday 27th of November at 8pm GMT. Here's some links so you have no excuse to miss it!

Manchester Global Radio   <<< this is where to listen to the show ;)

Lastly a TV catch up.
Usual crap on MTV not to be watched.
I've been watching a series on SyFy called Continuum. It's coming to an end of series 1 now but if you can get hold of the DVD its well worth it. The show starts off 65 years in the future, a future where corporations have taken over and there's loads of cool gadgets everywhere. Go see for yourself, it does start a little unbelievable but as you watch it, it gets better and better!
A series I've picked up on Sky called Falcón gets better too! In the third episode, Falcón played by Martin Csokas, puts a bullet through his 'brother's' face and the special effects are quite graphic. Another show well worth a watch!

Thats that for now I'll be back either later today or tomorrow with some of what I got up to Friday night or some weekend tunes.

Skyrim: The Black Star

The Black Star

Six things to do to complete this quest:
  • Find the elven mage from Aranea's vision. You'll find this guy in the Inn in Winterhold, he's called Nelacar. when you enter the Inn you hear the bar tender talking with him. He will tell you where to find the star, a little about it's history and try to convice you to bring it to him instead of Azura.
  • Find Azura's star. Nelacar will have told you that a mage from the college of Winterhold took it and some students to what is now a sunken fort called "Ilinalta's Deep" this place is located east of Riverwood in the big lake...oh look! map!

  • Once you're inside there's a crucified skeleton facing you with it's kitbag layed at it's feet inside you'll find a bunch of items, some useful, some not. There is a book in there about the place you've just entered read that for more info. In Ilinata's Deep there are 7 rooms. You'll encounter 6 necromancers of varied levels and 5 skeletons along the way. In and around the place there's some assorted potions and a skill book. Not forgetting some important ingredients for enchanting and cooking. Once you've cleared Ilinalta's Deep theres a door that leads to Ilinalta's Deluge, another 3 rooms with 3 novice necromancers, an adept necromancer and a necromage. These are in turn accompanied by skeletons as well. At the top of the stairs in the final room you'll find the star at the feet of a skeleton.
  • Now its up to you at this point. Take the star to Nelacar or take it back to Azura. I took it back to Azura and she says that the star needed to be cleansed in order for me to use it. So Azura puts you inside the star to kill this bloke Malyn Varen... best way to do this is to ignore the rest of the dummy mages he lays in front of you and head straight for him. I used unrelenting force to catch up with him. After killing him survive for a bit longer then Azura brings you out and the star is yours to keep and use as a soul gem.

Bad News or Good News?
